Usher Nominated For Five Soul Train Awards, Check Out Complete Nominee List!

The nominations for the 2012 Soul Train Awards were announced today, and a couple of artists made history. R. Kelly’s two nominations brings his lifetime total to six, a record for the awards. Usher has five nominations, including Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

Two beloved artists we’ve lost received posthumous nominations. Whitney Houston is up for Best Gospel International Performance for “Celebrate,” her duet with Jordin Sparks, while Amy Winehouse is nominated for Best International Performance, honoring her “Our Day Will Come.”

Other prominent nominees this year include brand new “American Idol” judge Nicki Minaj, newcomer Emeli Sande, Rihanna, Beyonce, Estelle, Nas, John Legend and Chris Brown. New Edition will also be honored this year with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year’s Soul Train Awards will air at 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 25 on BET and Centric.
