It’s bad enough when 20-something year old celebs get caught driving after having a few too many, but shouldn’t anyone old enough for Social Security know better? 65-year-old Sally Struthers is the latest star to get in trouble for driving under the influence.
The “All in the Family” actress was busted this morning in Maine for OUI, or operating under the influence. TMZ reports that there were no drugs involved. Struthers was released after posting $160 bail.
Since this is her first offense, the ChildFund International spokesperson doesn’t face any jail time. The worst she can get is a $500 fine and a 90-day-license suspension, which will likely get plea-bargained down to a smaller fine and community service after Struthers puts a highly-paid Beverly Hills lawyer on the case.
At least the petite blonde actress looks cute in her mug shot, which is more than we can say for some repeat offenders half her age. Let’s hope Struthers considers this a wake-up call and doesn’t make it a habit.
