The history of Hollywood is littered with the sad stories of child stars whose lives went terribly wrong after hitting puberty. Now former “Home Alone” kid actor Macaulay Culkin is denying rumors that he’s the latest casualty.
The latest issue of the National Enquirer claims that Culkin has a prescription drug problem that costs him $6,000 a month, and lets his NYC apartment be used as a crash pad for other addicts.
According to an Enquirer source, “He’s been hooked for a year and a half, and his drug of choice is either heroin or oxycodone…Mac is surrounding himself with junkies and lowlifes. It’s a real tragedy.”
The Enquirer story blamed Culkin’s recent problems on his breakup with longtime girlfriend Mila Kunis, and quoted a second source as saying, “He’s addicted to heroin, oxycodone, Percocet and Vicodin. I have witnessed his drug taking, which has escalated over the past year and a half to the point where he needs serious help.”
Culkin’s camp is vehemently denying the allegations, as Culkin’s rep Michelle Bega told TMZ “The report in the National Enquirer that Macaulay Culkin is addicted to heroin and assorted hallucinogenics is not only categorically without merit, but it is also impossibly and ridiculously fictitious.”
Bega added, “We beseech the responsible media to consider the source and its reputation and to please not perpetuate this destructive and insulting story by pursuing it any further.”
So is Culkin a hopeless junkie or not? Only time will tell!
