Jenelle Evans ought to spend more time at home with her little one and less time out partying, because she just can’t seem to stay out of trouble. The 20-year-old reality star and her sometime fiancé Gary Head were both hauled off to the slammer this weekend after an altercation.
According to Evans’ attorney, Dustin Sullivan, the “Teen Mom” called 911 on a domestic violence complaint, but was arrested by the police when they discovered drugs at her Oak Island, N.C., residence. Evans was charged with simple assault, possession of a controlled substance, possession of less than one-half ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The cops also charged Marine Gary Head with assault on a female, possession of less than one half-ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.
Both spent the night in jail before being released on bond. Evans’ lawyer Sullivan expressed surprise that his client was arrested at all, since she made the 911 call in the first place. He told E! News:
“Jenelle is the one who called the police and was assaulted. The drugs that were found were not found on Jenelle. I do plan on speaking with the officers involved to learn more about why the victim of this assault was charged and will hopefully know more soon. We do intend to…defend Jenelle from these allegations.”
So what really happened? That depends on whose story you believe. An unnamed source told E! News that Head “beat the s–t out of her and strangled her” and is in danger of being “dishonorably discharged from the Marines.”
Another source claims Evans awoke with a “bad bipolar disorder,” began to “beat” on Head and accused him of cheating. Head allegedly retaliated by smashing her phone, upon which Evans used his phone to call 911.
Both parties later took to Twitter to give their sides. Head Tweeted: “I’ve had a rough 2 days and I just want to be left alone,” and later added, “As soon as I’m out of all this trouble, I would be happy with a $50,000 jackpot.” He also stated Evans was no longer his girlfriend, which seems like a smart move on his part.
Evans countered with: “Went to the hospital yesterday for my injuries thank God im fine. New chapter opened in my life and im pretty excited :).” She also said: “Yes I left him becuz he was caught cheating. He did something to me that was physical and tramatizing. I’m just so grated jace wasn’t there.” Jace is Evans’ infant son.
Head has the most to lose here, because a felony conviction could get him booted out of the Marine Corps. Landing in jail would probably just get Evans another reality show.
