Adele’s hit “Rolling in the Deep” not only tops the charts, but wakes people up from comas.
That’s the case with Charlotte Neve. She’s a 7 year old British girl who suffered a brain hemorrhage in April and had to undergo two operations. She soon slipped into a coma…Doctors thought that was the end for the youth. Until the songbird, Adele, came on the radio.
A week after comatose, the Adele hit began to play in Charlotte’s room. Her mother, Leila, started singing along to the tune and then miraculously her little girl woke up and started smiling.
“Charlotte started smiling, and I couldn’t believe it,” her mother said. “It was the first time she had reacted to anything since the hemorrhage. The nurses were astounded and told me to keep singing, and she smiled again. The nurses said it was like I ‘unlocked her’ and from that day she started getting better and better.”
The Neve family is particularly grateful to have Charlotte back. Although she is partially blind and has slight memory loss, the family is just happy she isn’t gone for good. Charlotte is back at home, school and taking dance lessons. That’s a long way away from a coma.
Adele and her reps have yet to talk about this “radio miracle,” but might want to soon. Is this really a miracle, or just a coincidence? It seems to be one of those right places at the right time sorts of thing, because really if it was Ke$ha that she woke to, would it still be that crazy?
