Jessica Sanchez blows away the crowd….once again.
Coming in second on “American Idol” isn’t the worst thing that can happen to an aspiring singer, especially when that singer is only 16 years old. While other girls her age are hanging out by the pool and working on their tans, Jessica Sanchez has been showing off her amazing pipes for stadiums full of admiring fans.
As many vocalists have found out, it’s not that easy to sing “The Star Spangled Banner,” but Sanchez made it look easy when she performed at a trio of recent high-profile gigs.
On May 28, Sanchez sang the national anthem during the PBS Memorial Day concert in Washington, D.C., then again at Saturday’s Manny Pacquiao/Timothy Bradley Welterweight Championship fight in Las Vegas.
On Tuesday night, the 16-year-old beauty was in Oklahoma City to sing the song again before the first game of the NBA finals, a match between the Miami Heat and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
No wonder she’s exhausted! On Monday, Sanchez posted to her Twitter: “So tired lol. In vegas, heading to oklahoma :)”
Jessica Sanchez’s powerful a cappella rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner” has sparked comparisons to a legendary diva—the late Whitney Houston.
Even if her star-spangled stadium tour leaves her breathless, Sanchez is sure to be having a better week than “Idol” winner Philip Phillips. While his family was in California helping him recover from kidney surgery, their Albany, GA, pawn shop was burglarized to the tune of over $4,000 in merchandise.
