Mark Zuckerberg has to be floating on cloud 9 right now. The 28 year old billionaire is undergoing several changes in his life, and they are all things anyone his age would be extremely proud of. Zuckerberg, who just turned 28 last Monday, has much more to celebrate than simply moving up in age.
Facebook is now trading on the Nasdaq Stock Market, and selling stock to the public for the first time. Zuckerberg made the historic move this past Friday. The IPO could value Facebook at nearly $100 billion, making it worth more than well known companies such as Disney, Kraft Foods, and Ford.
However, while businessmen are losing their minds trying to decide whether or not to purchase the young CEO’s stock, Zuckerberg is focusing on more important things….like changing his Facebook status to ‘married’.
Saturday, the day after his social network went public, Zuckerberg wed his long time girlfriend, 27 year-old Priscilla Chan. Chan who graduated from UC San Francisco’s medicine school on Zuckerberg’s birthday last monday, has been a loyal girlfriend to the Facebook creator for nearly ten years.
The wedding was a surprise to the less than 100 guests who had visited Zuckerberg’s home in Palo Alto, California with the plans of celebrating Chan’s graduation. They were shocked when the couple announced that they would be reciting vows instead. Zuckerberg wore a dark blue suit and tie with a white shirt underneath, while Chan wore a white wedding dress with a sheer back, chapel length train, and veil to match. The dress was designed by Claire Pettibone, and retails for nearly $5,000.
Other famous faces should take notes. That’s definitely a way to sneak in a wedding without the media finding out. I guess the CEO doesn’t have to everything big. Congrats to the successful young couple! *Clicks like*
