Modern Family Stars to ABC: Show Me The Money!

Remember back when Friends show stars stuck together and demanded a raise? And not just a small raise…a huge raise…one for each co-star?

Well, the stars of ABC’s hit comedy Modern Family are in negotiations now for a hefty raise, and it looks like the network is going to have to show the stars significant amounts of cash to keep the top show going. The adult actors in the ensemble production, aside from Ed O’Neill, initially made between $30,000 – $60,000 per episode. Ed O’Neill, who is the most famous of the group, earns approximately $100,000 per episode.

Now that the show is a bonafide runaway success, receiving many award wins across several seasons, there has been a push to re-sign all of its cast members. Industry insiders are looking to another show with an ensemble cast to determine how much Modern Family actors should make. The stars of CBS’ The Big Bang Theory recently received a pay increase and now earn $200,000 – $250,000 an episode, plus a piece of the show’s back end profits in the future. Modern Family stars are set to ask for similar contracts very soon.

What do you think? Which cast member deserves more money? Or do any of them deserve raises? Should making what the average Joe makes on a year’s salary be enough for these tv stars?

I think Sofia Ty and Julie should get a bigger raise, because the show makes a lot of money and because they’re the ones that make the show hilarious
