Lady LaBelle: Legend of Soul

One of the few legends of soul music graced the stage at the 7th annual Jazz in the Gardens musical festival this past weekend in Miami, Florida, and she did not disappoint. Headlining the event alongside such R&B heavyweights as Mary J. Blige and Jill Scott, Patti LaBelle proved that she still had it in abundance as she wowed the crowd with her well known song list. From her early hits with her girl group LaBelle, to her solo hits in the 80s, the diva showcased the voice that has captivated legions of fans across generations.

And what show would be complete without…what can only be defined as a ‘Patti moment’? At one point during her performance, the songstress put the mic down and drifted across the stage like an angel as she continued singing with her dynamic voice that echoed across the audience. Trends may come and go, but one thing that has remained constant is that true artistry and talent never goes out of style. Patti LaBelle showed the audience exactly what it means to be a diva divine.

Check out what Ms. Patti LaBelle said to our very own Roni at the BET Awards after party! (Starts at 3:40)
